Hello! It’s been a while. A long while, actually — and if you’ve been here before, thank you for coming back. If you’re new here, welcome. Either way, I’m glad you’re reading this, because this post marks the beginning of something I’m genuinely excited about.
I’m back — and I’m bringing AI with me.
Before you click away thinking “AI isn’t for me, I’m not techy enough” — that’s exactly why I’m writing this. This series is for you. Especially for you.
Where I’ve Been
Life, as it tends to do, got full. Between raising Finn, working on my financial freedom plan, investing in myself through Tony Robbins’ Leadership Mastery, and just living the life I’ve been designing — the blog took a back seat.
But something has been quietly shifting in the background. Something I can’t stop thinking about, can’t stop using, and genuinely believe is one of the biggest opportunities of our lifetime.
AI.
My Honest AI Journey
Back in 2023, I ran a workshop called “HELP! I’m scared of AI” — designed for entrepreneurs who were feeling overwhelmed and didn’t know where to begin. We covered practical things like using AI to create lead magnets, write social media posts, and draft newsletter content. Things that felt impossibly complex suddenly felt doable. And watching the penny drop for the people in that room was one of my favourite things I’ve done.
But here’s my honest admission: even as the person running that workshop, I still felt — and still feel — daunted by AI at times. The landscape moves so fast. Every week there’s a new tool, a new capability, a new headline. It can feel like you’re always three steps behind, no matter how much you learn.
Sound familiar?
What I’ve come to understand is that the overwhelm never fully goes away — and that’s okay. You don’t need to know everything. You just need to know enough to make AI useful in your life, right now. And that bar is much lower than you think.
Since 2023 I’ve kept experimenting, kept learning, and AI has become a genuine part of how I plan, create, and think. It’s helped me draft content, organise my ideas, research decisions faster, and yes — design my life with more clarity and intention than ever before.
I want to share all of that with you.
Who This Series Is For
This is not for tech people. This is not for developers or data scientists or people who already know their way around this world.
This is for you if:
- You’ve heard about AI but have no idea where to start
- You feel like everyone else already knows something you don’t
- You’re curious but also a little bit nervous
- You want to use AI to make your real, everyday life better — not to become a tech expert
- You believe there’s a way to use AI to help you design a life you love
That last one is the thread that runs through everything here at Inspiring Life Design, and it’s the lens through which we’ll explore all of this together.
What’s Coming In The Series
Here’s a taste of what I’m planning to cover:
- A plain-English guide to ChatGPT — what it is, how to sign up (it’s free), and your very first conversation
- AI tools I actually use every week — including some you might already have access to without realising it (yes, Canva counts!)
- How I use AI to save hours every week — and what I do with that time instead
- AI for your goals and habits — using AI to get clarity, make plans, and stay on track
- AI as a side hustle springboard — the real, accessible ways AI is helping people earn money without a tech background
- Navigating the overwhelm — how to tune out the noise and find what actually works for you
Each post will be practical, jargon-free, and rooted in real examples. I’ll show you exactly what I’ve tried, what worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do differently. No fluff.
Why Now?
Because the world has changed. And it’s going to keep changing, faster.
I’ve spent years writing about designing a life of freedom and intention — and I truly believe that the people who learn to work with AI will have an extraordinary advantage in creating that freedom. Not just financially, but in terms of time. Headspace. Energy. All the things we’re always trying to create more of.
You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to start.
As Jeff Olson writes in The Slight Edge — it’s the small, consistent actions that change everything. Learning a little about AI, regularly, over time? That’s a brick worth laying.
